Hesaraghatta Lake: The appealing lake is actually a manmade reservoir placed 18 km to the north-west of the city. It is a fresh water lake built in 1894 across the Arkavathy River to complete the drinking water needs of the Bangalore. The lake was the combine decision of the former Dewan of erstwhile Mysore state, Sir K. Seshadri Iyer & former Chief Engineer of Mysore, M. C. Hutchins. The project was named 'Chamarajendra Water Works' and has a capacity to store approximate three-years water supply of the city.
Bangalore Palace: The captivating palace was constructed by Rev. Garrett, who was the foremost Principal of the Central High School in Bangalore, which is now recognized by the name of Central College. The edifice of the palace was started in the year 1862 and finished in 1944. In 1884, the palace was owned by Chamaraja Wodeyar, who was the Maharaja of Mysore but now it belongs to a royal family of Mysore, Srikanta Datta Narsimharaja Wadiyar.
